Slow, natural decomposition adds vital nutrients to the soil.
N-P-K ratio: 2.5-1-3
Repurposing the discarded cocoa bean hulls after roasting in the chocolate making process was originally introduced as an alternative top cover to mulch for flower beds and vegetable gardens.
Over time, Cocoa Shell Mulch was found to add, rather than draw, vital nutrients to the soil like Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potassium.
With its nutritional composition, "treating" your flower beds and vegetable gardens to the delightful smell and eye-catching look of Cocoa Shell Mulch also promotes more favorable soil health and vitality; producing healthier plant beds and higher yielding vegetable gardens.
Spread by hand or rake. Ideally, the mulch material should be evenly spread 2" thick on top of the soil surface.
Lightly pack down the mulch material.
Water the mulch thoroughly. This helps to activate the natural gumming and moisture retention properties.
Maintenance: Replenishing, or adding small amounts of mulch, to existing mulch from time-to-time may be needed, as this is a naturally decaying, 100% natural product.
